Eero Saarinen sen, a famous Finnish American architect and industrial designer was born on August 20, 1910 in Kirkkonummi, Finland. He studied at the pioneering Cranbrook Academy of Art. Eero's said: The principle objective behind design of these furniture designs was to clear the "slum of legs" from home interiors.Eero Saarinen was selected a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects. He is also a winner of the AIA Gold Medal.
