Isamu Noguchi
Isamu Noguchi, a prominent Japanese American artist and landscape architect was born on November 17, 1904 in Los Angeles, California. He studied medicine at Columbia University, mean while he also took sculpture classes on the Lower East Side at the same time.
Isamu Noguchi philosophy
He is recognized for his intangible sculptures designed as adjuncts to architecture. According to him through sculpture and architecture one could better understand the struggle with nature. His design general defines natural or human entities that interact with one another or with their environs. His work are also greatly inspired by European surrealism and abstraction.
